In today's episode I am talking about both why you should and how to add a healthy copepod population to your reef tank. For Australian reefers, ask your local fish store to carry the Coral Creatures range. If you have no luck with them, check out 🤍coralcreatures.com.au for an incredible range of brine, phytoplankton, copepods (and more) that are all available to be delivered to your door.
Can copepods get diabetes 🥺
raw d? you dirty bruh
GREAT videos as always Sam!!!! QUICK QUESTION. when do you think it would be an appropriate time to add to a newly cycled tank?
They went to college
OH MAN you sound like Thor lol 😆 ( Chris Hemsworth) 😄 love it lol! Bro Love the info on copepods too thanks Thor!!!!
How They collect them? My pots come with rocks
I have a cherry shrimp tank fulll of them
I don't have fish/tanks, but was searching up, copepods, on, Google (cause, I was giggling to myself like a dork, about, "cocoa pods...cocopods..... copepods, lol).
Anyway, decided to sub
I added live rock and sand to my tank last night. I woke up this morning to hundreds of pods!! I’m going to get some phytoplankton today for them to eat on. Do you have any tips on how to get them to multiply? Or should I just buy a bottle of pods to add?
Just ordered some from coral creatures. Do you feed phytoplankton to keep them alive or let the natural buildup of food and waste feed them? (Is that even a good source for copepods? 😅)
I'm new to keeping a reef tank, and have been wondering about adding copopods to my tank but been concerned about adding the water they come in to my system as everyone seems to say dont add lfs water to our tanks but you appear to add it to your tank. Is the water they ship in safe to do so?
Nice tank buddy! Subscribed!
I have a refugium in my back chamber loaded with pods I have a mandarin so pods are a gotta have
I wish I grew my own using my water. I think I introduced spores of sponges. Which is a good thing. But there in my PVC and I got a lot of them. When I shut the main pump I see them. They gray hopefully they die off. That was the only thing I added to a sterile tank. I added dry rock and no sand.. good luck.
.
Another way to get critters is to get cheato/algea in your sump from different reliable sources to build up your biodiversity. Really dig how you did your cabinets! Can you make a video on how you proceed?
Do you think there is any benefit to continually adding pods. Say once every few months? I havn't added any in a year and this made me think about it...
Crucial! Totally agree - biodiversity is totally underrated - it should be up there with lighting, flow and water quality IMO ;)
This video came just at the right time! In the process of starting my 700L tank and 200L cube🙌🏾🙌🏾
Much love from South Africa🇿🇦
Thanks for the informative video. How often would you recommend adding them? I have a 20 gallon Waterbox cube and I add every 6 months.
