any advice of maintenance management analyst?
Flightline engine mechanic on B52s and KC135s for six years in the 70s. Loved the job but not being only female. We did do arms training and were assigned (in SAC) to alert teams expected to set up FOBs and deploy. That was a bit more like army. But I rarely had any mickey mouse stuff to deal with since we were considered essential and spent our time wrenching and running aircraft.
I was Security Specialist and not Law Enforcement. I retired as a recruiter. I worked nights and got my degree in Criminal Justice and Human Resources Management. After retirement I became a Deputy Sheriff and retired as a Police Sergeant. I took a much needed year off from being an SP and LEO. I decided to go back to work and now I work in Human Resources Specialist for the Veteran Affairs.
You get what you put into the Air Force. My USAF sacrifices are 7 deployments to the sandbox, 3 to Central America and a few Team Spirit, REFORGER, Giant Sword, Olympic Arena, and Peacekeeper Challenge competitions. I am old but can still pass a USAF pt test any day of the week.
C-17 loadmaster of 7 years - No complaints and 52 countries
something dealing with FLYING/AIRCREW is usually a great job in the Air Force...flight pay, tdy pay, travel, downtime when not flying, etc....
I have always been interested in the military and aviation, but I am colorblind so flying is out of the option. I turned to engineering and saw the position of “Flight Engineer”. This really interested me as you still get to fly (ride in a plane), but it is an engineering role and you can do it as a colorblind person. What are your thoughts on this?
Intelligence Operations Specialist
What about UAV pilot ? Thx for the great insight btw !
Just out of curiosity, where does being a pilot stand? I’m neither in, nor plan on joining the Air Force by the way.
I wanted to become a police officer and thought Security Forces would lead to responsibility and experience. How wrong I was. Security Forces was entirely guard work. I guarded parked aircraft, empty ammo bunkers, checked ID cards at gates, and watched missiles which never once moved. The work was 12-hour tours, in outside elements, 24/7, and for the same money admin guys made working 8 hrs. The shift work made attending college difficult. We didn't have the hours to use the gym which is necessary for PT tests. The USAF is big on volunteering. This helps earn good evaluations for promotion and retention. Imagine how difficult it is to volunteer at a church after working a midnight knowing you must return that night. I'm proud of my service and worked with the best people in the world, but do not recommend this job. Security Forces did not help me any becoming a city police officer.
After you enlist and your enlistment ends after 4-8 years can you go back but to OTS?
Long time follower shitty interaction from my end (exept some live vids) if you guys want to interview a 4a031 let me know. I saw the old one you did and it was terrible. 👍😎
The grass is greener on the other side of the hill, I suffered from this badly when I was in the military also, every other job except your own is better...
PJ would be my pick for best job. But I guess what I would be looking for is very different. Not better or words than this list, just different. If I joined the military and all I did was push papers around and go home early... I think I'd go AWOL.
Dam this dude separated and he is still milking the Air Force vids lmao
What about cyber operations for the army?
Security forces top 5!!
