In the 2012 award-winning series Money, Power and Wall Street, FRONTLINE tells the story of the struggles to repair the economy after the 2008 financial crisis, exploring key decisions, missed opportunities, and the uneasy partnership between leaders of government and finance. This journalism is made possible by viewers like you. Support your local PBS station here: 🤍🤍pbs.org/donate. In part one of Money, Power and Wall Street, FRONTLINE correspondent Martin Smith interviews leading bankers, government officials and journalists to chart the epic rise of a new financial order—and the trouble that followed. As Wall Street innovated, its revenues skyrocketed, and financial institutions of all stripes tied their fortunes to one another. Smith probes deeply into the story of the big banks—how they developed, how they profited, and how the model that produced unfathomable wealth planted the seeds of financial destruction. FRONTLINE’s veteran financial and political producers Michael Kirk (The Choice 2020: Trump Vs. Biden, United States of Conspiracy), Martin Smith (The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, The Pension Gamble), Marcela Gaviria (The Virus: What Went Wrong?, Separated: Children at the Border) and Tom Jennings (Right to Fail, Opioids Inc.) team up to present this Emmy Award-winning documentary series. #Documentary #MoneyPowerWallStreet Subscribe on YouTube: 🤍bit.ly/1BycsJW Instagram: 🤍🤍instagram.com/frontlinepbs Twitter: 🤍twitter.com/frontlinepbs Facebook: 🤍🤍facebook.com/frontline Major funding for FRONTLINE is provided by the Ford Foundation. making money with air
Business people of NY use restaurant on
Wall Street as a place to hold business meetings
Making the best trades is the key, making profits is the goal and money is secondary; this I am sure of as I have never lost a trade with the expertise and management of Mr Thomas Kostas with his dynamic trading software.,
ALL PEOPLE SHOULD OWN ALL CORPORATIONS …AND ALL THINGS obviously, and it will end world poverty and human suffering! Think of starving Babies!
Then we’ll be free and cashless!. WCRTW
“When Corporations Rule The World” page 241: The corporation is a true Frankenstein’s monster—an artificial person run amok.....Could a corporation entirely dispense with not only human ownership but also human workers.….It would be responsible to no one but itself in its mechanical drive for power and profit. It would represent CAPITALISM at its very purist, completely unconcerned with anything save profit and power…
Perhaps one day, if allowed sufficient freedom to follow its own unrestrained tendencies, a global corporation will achieve the ultimate in productive efficiency, an entity made up solely of computers and machines busily engaged in the replication of money…BUT
“For growing numbers of people around the world, especially youth, minorities, and women, there is no longer a dream of a more prosperous and secure future, only the bleak prospect of exclusion, despair, deprivation, shame, and brutalizing violence…
International refugees in:
1960: 1.4 million;
1970-2.5 million,
1980-8.2 million,
1992-18.2 million;
2022-over +60 million.
[No houses or water or food or cars! Life is almost impossible! And USA capitalism is the only cause! Look at YouTube subjects on poverty worldwide! Refugees, etc.]
“It should now be obvious that the cure for the deprivations of poverty will not, cannot, be found in the economic growth of a globalized free market that weakens and destroys the bonds of culture and community to the benefit of GLOBAL CORPORATIONS… Our collective survival—not only of the poor and excluded but also of the relatively affluent and not yet excluded—depends on creating an institutional and values framework that advances this restoration…
…There is nothing inevitable about the collective madness of pursuing policies that deepen the dysfunction. The idea that we are caught in the grip of irresistible historical forces and inherent human imperfections to which we have no choice but to adapt is pure fabrication. Economic globalization is being advanced by conscious choices made by those who see the world through the lens of the corporate interest. There are human alternatives, and those who view the world through the lens of the human interest have both the right and the power to choose them…
To correct the deep dysfunction, we must shed the illusions of our collective cultural trance, reclaim the power we have yielded to failing institutions, take back responsibility for our lives [all humans], and reweave the basic fabric of caring families and communities to create places for people and other living things. It is within our means, but it will require transforming the dominant belief systems, values, and institutions of our societies—-an Ecological Revolution comparable to the Copernican Revolution that ushered in the scientific-industrial era…”

“The Lancet Planetary Health Journal, May 2022:
Pollution kills nearly 9 million people worldwide annually, with the death toll attributed to emissions from CARS AND INDUSTRY, rising 55% since 2000. The study claims pollution kills the same number of people yearly as cigarette smoking and second-hand smoke combined.” See CARS? All nations NEED T&T to start saving lives and cleaning up the EARTH!
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death! So we will destroy the capitalist wage system someday, but not soon enough to save billions who are starving to death! Even millions of Americans are starving to death because they have no income or place to live, because we are all slaves! There should be equal wealth worldwide ASAP!
Ferdinand Lundberg “The Rich and the Super Rich” page 320, pure capitalism will be when one man owns everything... corporations are still concentrating into fewer bigger corporations...MNCs which most Americans aren’t even aware of!! Five corporations control most FOOD! “If you want to BUY MY food then get a job, and if you can’t ever get a job, then starve!” Billions are too sick to work ever again, including Americans, and should all have a Universal Basic Income immediately!
Every person should have a UBI ASAP so we can eliminate poverty, crimes and money. And all people should own all things worldwide to end poverty, and start building only Tower cities connected to maglev Trains worldwide, by working part time 20 hours a week, with a UBI and or equal wealth worldwide. And see “Rogue State” by Wm Blum, and many others, at Third World Traveler, who show us how USA has forced every attempt at Socialism to fail by starting over 50-80 wars, killing 30-80+ million people worldwide. All nations must start building only Towers and Trains to save the EARTH! ASAP! (See: Flexible Buildings: The Future of Architecture”!)
(Please forgive me for the times I get angry, but capitalism makes me very angry!)
We must destroy capitalism, starting in USA because every word on this documentary, and every word said that s positive for capitalism is a lie! Wall Street never should have existed! The WAGE is slavery and illegal, and it’s the ONLY CAUSE OF WORLD POVERTY, caused especially by American capitalists!
Please do NOT BUY anything until we destroy evil capitalism!
There is no mystery why people are mad that bankers received tax bailouts. The only mystery is who paid off PBS to defend this corruption.
The real estate bubble was NOT a complex question of derivatives, blah blah blah. It was simply a bubble market - something the human race repeatedly falls for. And always will.
And it can't be fixed by government action, when the government itself was a major player in pushing bankers to issue these bad loans.
humm 🤔basically what happened here is like when some body sell the same car to multiple buyers everything is ok until the delivery day of the car arrives
Don't gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don't go up, don't buy it.
Blind, reckless GREED.
sounds like they are talking about Bitcoin which will cause the next crisis
It's still hard to believe that these banks were technically backing up these toxic financial products that they owned with their own insurance, if it wasn't so unbelievable it would be funny.
So good, I love frontline…seek truth like Socrates
The simplistic manager consequently calculate because ease histopathologically surround after a splendid wave. enchanted, amazing shake
Yep ending glass/steagle unleashed the banking industry to just straight hi-jack our economy and run everything and everyone! We are all screwed!!!!
This is a well detailed and informed video. I'm here to learn how to invest after listening to a guy over the air talk about the importance of investing and how he made $410,000 in 5months from $180,000 startup. Somehow this video has helped shed light on some things, but I'm still confused, I'm a newbie and I'm open to ideas
Read “When Corporations Rule The World” on page 252 he’s explaining how people worldwide have been forced into needing money for millennia, so needing money is actually unnatural. That’s the most important information in the history of the world because it tells us that that is the cause of world poverty! And I said it in one sentence. Look at British history at how they were enslaving colonies, getting rich by selling cocaine and destroying nations and people, forcing people to need money but never gave all people a WAY to get money! Then after WWII America became the richest nation, and we just continued doing the same things, forcing people to work for a tiny wage but never giving all people a way to make money, so they starve still today. Step back and look down on the whole earth and you can see that this system is called capitalism, which is slavery in all ways except the name. It’s impossible to know what you don’t know. And it’s going to be hard to destroy the Beast, called capitalism, except hopefully we can all stop buying anything except necessities, especially from corporations, for however long it takes to destroy capitalism. Small businesses are always struggling, so buy from them, IF you can find one. We should keep believing that there should be equal wealth, and we need all nations to start eliminating all military and weapons, and use that money for a Universal Basic Income. And THEN we need to start building only Tower cities connected to maglev Trains worldwide ASAP, because we must eliminate all vehicles and houses just to save the earth!
Why I wanted to watch "Inside the Meltdown" of " Inside Job both about the financial meltdown and why now I'll never know BUT I watched THOUSANDS of my retirement go and we watched the political boys on Cspan and watch them walk out on the 4th of July in 2009 with out extending UI.
