NAS Brands in 2021 – Which One Should You Choose? 🤍 Buying your first Network Attached Storage (NAS) device can be a remarkably daunting task! Even for the most technologically knowledgable, a NAS is a very different kind of device than most of the hardware in your environment. New Synology DS1522+ NAS Drive Revealed - 🤍 Good news for anyone who has been sitting comfortably (or uncomfortably, depending on your storage needs of course) waiting on news of Synology NAS solutions for 2022, with the reveal of a new 5-Bay solution from the brand - the Synology DS1522+ NAS Drive. Originally released in summer 2020 (between May-July depending on where in the world you were) the Synology DS920+ was the follow up to the hugely popular and successful DS918+ NAS and when it was eventually released it met with a mostly positive reaction. This combined with the inclusion of BTRFS as the file system of choice and support of Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) meant that this system was, and still in, a fully-featured system. However, the system is now a year since we first revealed the DS920+, as well as numerous other Synology NAS hardware being released since then. So many users are wondering if the DS920+ is still a NAS worth your data and your money in 2021? So, below I want to talk about the main points to consider to see if the DS920+ should still be your next NAS purchase this year.
