Capture One has introduced an update to the Capture One iPad app that enables wireless and wired tethering directly to your camera. Unlike using an app that transfers preview files, or connects to your camera and eliminates viewing through your camera, there is no obstruction to the photography process when tethering via Capture One App. In addition to this functionality, the Capture One App can be used for culling images through stars and color tags. You can also edit via styles, or manually adjust exposure, color, sharpness and more via sliders. Lastly, you can do all this and connect to the desktop experience via cloud transfer, allowing you to pick up on your desktop computer where you left off on the iPad. This video displays the features of the Capture One app for iPad, and goes over how this can benefit various photographers. I am worried about the USB-C socket. It may get damaged.
I use the Canon app to rate my pictures on location
Case model for ipad?
Unfortunately I was so disappointed that it was an additional fee 🥺
This can also be done via Photo Sync app too.
Capture one is quite behind in the game. Great review but after watching I’d still prefer Camranger 2. It allows me to share and even on the client’s device (up to 5 devices). I can also share to a pc and make fine adjustments on psd with my RAW files immediately if I have to. Most importantly it’s wireless. Thanks for the review, not for me.
I have a 2 questions. 1. Do you a external hard drive with your iPad when you do shoots because the file are big. 2. How much space do you carry on your iPad if you don’t carry a SSD?
This is such a great and amazing thing. Am so hoping it will come to Android tablets (using Galaxy Tabe 7S+) soon as well. Love Capture One and using with my Fuji X-H1. Great information and seeing the great application expanding into mobile option as well.
tethering usefull content
This looks like the perfect setup for me. What cable are you actually using? I've tried doing this in the past, but the cable has to be very specific in order for it to work.
WORKS WITH ALL THE sONY CAMERAS ???
What brand/model is your iPad case? Thanks for showing how you use CaptureOne.
Going to give this a shot. I have been tethering Cascable which does give you live view but it doesn’t seem to have all the raw capabilities of Capture One.
Sounds good but, what I would like is live view that my blind ars could see what the camera sees why make exposure, focus &, composition adjustments. Thanks for the vid.
Will this come on Android
Thank you for a great video, I got a lot out of it, I have been doing tethering for some time. the iPad seems to be a great way to go when on location. My assistants had to set up a Wifi when we were on location!
I would never purchase a $5 a month subscription app for this. I simply use a high end field monitor to check my levels & would never edit in the field either.
What bag/accessory are you using to carry the iPad while shooting?
Great, great review! As always... But how to withstand now buying an iPad?
