A selection of what I consider the best Poirot film adaptations. The first few clips are actually from the film Lord Edgware Dies, as Alibi is a lost film.
Halloween is definitely one I watch every year. Ties up the loose ends of the book too (the dead teacher)
The best TV feature length episode of Poirot starring Suchet in my opinion are After The Funeral and Five Little Pigs.
After The Funeral was better in the movie adaptation solely for the presence of Michael Fassbender smoldering his way through the plot.
Death on the Nile is not one of the best novels by Christie.
I actually prefer the Suchet version of Murder on the Orient Express. I too really enjoy the Suchet adaptations of Halloween, appointment with Death, Death on the Nile, and After the Funeral. But my favorite of all Poirot adaptations in Five Little Pigs. I concur with all the reasons given, but I would also add the score--including the haunting Erik Satie piece was just moving.
Love what you’re doing here. Keep it up!
I think David Suchet is fantastic, and my favorite Poirot movie is Murder in Mesopotamia
NEW "Death on the Nile" is the best movie so far from Agatha Criste's novels.
I once travelled with Vernon Dobtcheff who plays the old man in Christmas, he was lovely and fun and a great travelling companion. He has made 373 films !! Must be a record.
The new 'Death on the Nile' was beyond awful ! Woke and broke.
Appointment with Death, 1988, Peter Ustinov, Lauren Bacall, Piper Laurie, Princess Leia. I did not see that one coming.
Yes, I'm in love with Suchet, his performances and AC's writing! Her books are SO much deeper than any screen version can possibly be! Try them, truly, you won't be sorry!
PS Just keep in mind that Kenny B. is Irish & his name doesn't sound British when spoken ... it has a flat "a" (as in cat) rather than an 'ahhh' sound (as in bra)
Enjoyed this SO much!! SO much fun!!
PS: I ADORE Peter Ustinov and I'm in love with David Suchet .... WAIT FOR IT -- I MET HIM .... Yes, me ... I did ..... sigh ....
I personnally liked also the ABC Murder, the acting of Poirot and Mr. CUst
Poirot's Christmas is the most underrated of the bunch, and my solid number 3...
And the worst has to be the new ABC murders , wht the hell were they think makeing it?
Very nice indeed. A couple of my personal faves are The Hollow. and Third Girl.
Of course, the only Poirot is Mr. Suchet, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't do Miss Marple, except _1HQJdIDa8w&t=4m50s 4:50 from Paddington with Margaret Rutherford. Thanks Miles, nice job.
I'm a fan of Suchet, so his Poirot adaptations are always superior to all other in my opinion. But I LOVE Angela Lansbury in Death on the Nile "this crocodile has lost its croc" LOL
